Selling deeded Wyndham points?

I have three deeded weeks that have been upgraded to points and have been told by the Wyndham sale people that when you sell the weeks they are no longer have point value and do not transfer as points to the new owner. Is this true? Doesn't make any sense, if this is true, to pay the exta costs if they do not make your week more valueable.

Don't believe anything they tell you. Call owner services if you have questions/concerns.

not true

I bought 4 converted fixed weeks, and the points transferred

Points will transfer. I own a converted fixed week I bought resale. The only thing that wont transfer is the "VIP" status which you may have.

Converted fixed weeks points definately transfer, personal experience! Once a points deed is issued no sales person nor Pope for that matter can change it.

However, sometimes fixed week owners with red hot week like Mardi Gras, Daytona 500, 4th of July, Spring break ski week, Christmas, etc. realize they have been scammed by sales to covert to points and paying say $20K+ to get VIP. Sometimes they can cancel and regain valuable fixed week, but not sure of process.

Points definately transfer with the week.

Two years ago we picked up 2 converted Coconut Malorie Ocean City, MD red weeks for $1 each. They were floating red weeks but the current owners could not book anything good with them. Well, in case you do not know, maintenance fees on converted fixed weeks are paid a year in advance. So any monthly payments being paid now are actually for 2013's fees. In Jan, Wyndham will pay that money to the HOA. In this case, what was happening, since Wyndham would not pay the money until say Jan of 2012, a summer week for 2012 could not be booked with those points until Jan 2012 even though there was suppose to be ARP for the deeded weeks.

All we had to do was send in a letter requesting to be terminated from the points system and I do not think it even took 3 weeks to process. So now we can book our high demand weeks when we want to, up to 2 years ahead of time. I feel bad that the previous owners paid a lot of money to convert those weeks to points. It lowered the value on them.
