Are timeshare resales the same as regular real estate when it comes to realtors? For example if I see a property listed for sale by Company X can I go to my preferred realtor at Company Y and deal via them. Or is listed seller the only option?

I've seen different resale companies on one website and wonder do they operate off of a MLS or similiar service.

I do not beleive that timeshares are listed via MLS. This could vary by state etc. There is nothing that prohibits you from using your own real estate agent to work with a seller to execute a sale. The fees would be negotiated between the parties.

Yes and no...There is an association of real estate agents that deal in timeshares. I would look for one of them if I wanted a timeshare specialist

Most realtors mls are local affairs. I belong to the Association of Fort Myers and the Beach for example. and our mls covers most of Lee County and Hendry County Fl...but thats about it

Also consider this..You might have a favorite realtor to represent you with your buying and selling of residential real estate. But you might want some one different to represent you in the purchase of a large farm or shopping center. Most of us specialize...and there are timeshare specialists

Also most of the realtors I know that do timeshares seem to specialize in one or two systems...I know where I would refer you for a Wyndham speciality, but thats differemt than the Blue Green guy or Marriott or Disney

Good luck

See the recommend timeshare resale agents who are listed in the TUG Business ratings, which is a sub-forum of the Buying, Selling, Renting forum.

In most cases, you can buy directly from an owner with no agent - just use a reputable transfer company to do the transfer.

Here's one...

Here's a Charter Club of Naples Bay on the MLS for $10K. I would expect that you could buy this thing just like you would any other piece of real estate.
