There are now dive masks available for purchase that have built in cameras that take either digital photo or movie clips. I was just amazed to see these.

Another item I saw in use was the gopro movie camera while snorkeling. These are tiny little things. http://gopro.com/products/

The snorkeler I saw using the gopro had it mounted on a monopod and he was snorkeling at the surface. He would extend the camera into the water and he would extend the monopod to whatever depth he could or needed.
Really quite an innovative way to film into the crevasse's of coral where fish like to hide.

I am not affiliated with either of these 2 companies. I just have a lot of "I want one of those" feelings for them.

I have the Explorer 8 mg from the Liquid Image and it is truly worthless - grainy, blurry pictures that look like you used a disposable camera. I have heard great things about the go pro video camera. I have a friend that uses it to video his surfing and mountain biking.

Although I haven't yet checked, I'm certain you can find samples of both on Youtube. Look for those not done by the company but from regular folks like us.(?):p
