What does "Pending" mean on my Online Reservation?

Hi All,

This morning I used DC points (from turning in a legacy property) to reserve a one bedroom at Canyon Villas. Thought it was a done deal (got confirmatiion email). I just noticed in "my-vacationclub" that just under the reservation in blue italics it says "pending". Anyone shine any light on what that means?

Thanks All

The DC points reservation we made earlier today also indicates Pending. Not sure what it means.

My confirmation email states:

"We are delighted to confirm your reservation with Marriott Vacation Club Intl. Below is a summary of your booking and room information. "

So I assume we are good to go?

It did the same thing to us. A few hours later (or maybe a day later) we received another "confirmation E-mail". This has happened on both our DC points reservations. I'm not certain if it's just a glitch in the system but it's sort of aggrivating to get a pre-confirmtion confirmation.

Under most circumstances, pending disappears after 24 hours when everything is finally settled.

I am not sure why they just don't pass over the pending stage and go directly to confirmed instead after that 24 hour period to begin with.

I wonder if anyone has ever had a pending withdrawn and changed to cancel, and under what circumstances would that happen?

If you are finding the "pending" under transaction history in your vacation club portfolio, then I think it will stay this way until you either cancel it or complete your stay. If you decide to cancel that reservation , that particular reservation will then change to "canceled" status in your portfolio; and if you keep that reservation, it will change to "complete" after you have completed your stay there. At least that is what has happened with our DC point reservations. Right now I have several "pending" for reservations later in the year; several "canceled" since I changed my mind and cancelled those reservations and used the points to reserve other units; and I have "complete" on those reservations made with DC points that were for earlier dates where we completed those stays.

Hope this helps.

Going back to look at all the transaction confirmations I have, I can see online at my-vacationclub.com that they all show pending. I've received several E-mails for my confirmations that have become somewhat confusing and seem unnecessary.

I received two confirmations for our Canyon Villa's points reservation on the same day, one of which looks like a hotel confirmation, the other from Marriott Vacation Club. Then I received another confirmation E-mail a day later from Marriott Vacation Club.

Each confirmation is just a little different than the one previous and all have slightly different information. IMHO, it is a rather confusing way to handle confirmations.

For our Mountain Valley Lodge confirmation, we received the three seperate E-mails PLUS a fourth E-mail confirming that was had borrowed points to make the reservation.
