I always hate to ask, and I probably just missed something along the way, but where's Rose Pink? Have not seen a post from her in quite some time. I enjoy reading her posts.

Good question - the last time she posted was in Oct., and the last time she logged on to TUG was about a month ago. You can send her an email and check-up on her if you like.

Boy, she's tough. I don't think I could quit TUG cold turkey. When you haven't heard from me for almost 4 months, I'll have been dead for at least 3. Wish her well for me!

I also asked the same question of PJ a while ago--miss her and hope all is well. She also told me she was just taking a break.

Sometimes I also think I need a break--too much time with my fanny in front of a computer, what with work + TUG and other things.

I've been backing off the computer, trying to do some reading, cooking/baking and picking up my needlepoint.

PJ, next time you talk to Rose Pink let her know I miss her here on the TUG Lounge. The cranky thread could have used a few of her pithy comments.

I miss her too. Some of her posts had me wiping my coffee off my computer screen.

But glad to hear she's okay.

PJ alerted me to this thread. I am okay. Thanks for remembering me and for the kind words.

I wish I could say I've put my time to better use but, alas, I have not. I just realized last night that I've spent about 20 hours in the last week or so playing sudoku on my iPad. Tug would have been a much better use of my time!

I did cut my hand the other night while cleaning the glass microwave tray. Of course, these things happen at night when the doctor's office is closed and I had to have a neighbor take me to the ER for stitches. Not looking forward to seeing the bill. But, the thing that irritates me most is that the replacement tray for the microwave is over $100. That is ridiculous.

On a brighter note, the ER doc told me they like patients like me. It gives them a pleasant break from all the addicts and drunks. :D

Welcome back. We missed you but didn't know it until someone asked what happened to Rose Pink.

Sorry about your hand.

Maybe a new microwave is cheaper than the glass tray- but probably not after you pay the E.R. bill (ouch).

Time to get planning your getaways. Winter won't last forever- though by now it seems like it.

You reminded me. I need to clean the inside of my micro.

You're wasting too much time on Sudoku; come back here! Since we're often helping each other, it's not a time-waster (well, usually not anyway.....)

Ouch on the hand and $ for ER and microwave tray.

But as usual, you end on a bright note - we like that!

DD has been in the ER 3 times in the last 5 nights. Last night the crazies were definitely out; there were several screaming F-Bombs etc, and security was turning them over to police. DD's new and wonderful boyfriend who works in security elsewhere was standing at the entrance to her ER room to protect her just in case.

I am sorry to hear that DD has had so many recent visits to the ER. Has anyone been able to determine the cause of her fainting episodes? Have you made any progress with her disability application?

Cause is related to BP that drops really low with various triggers - this last weekend she was playing laser tag (not a good idea for someone with her condition) and had a concussion, and the other two were at home standing in the shower and walking out of the bathroom. Pretty sure the 2nd and 3rd were a domino effect b/c of the concussion.

She is living at home again, supported by us, going to school, super new BF, and we aren't pursuing the disability application at this time....still have two years till she is 22, and by then I'll be on SS and if we haven't got her condition figured out we will file for her to be a DAC (disabled adult child) on my and/or her Dad's SS.

We will have a parade of specialists to see in the meantime.

Wait until you discover KenKen :ignore: . Much more challenging than Sudoku, esp. the 8x8s, not that I've given up my Sudoku habit :hysterical: . Found myself in the same situation wrt spending too much time on the computer. Now I limit myself to 4 KenKen's and 4-6 Sudoku's per day :p .

Sorry to hear about your trip to the ER. Last time I sliced my finger with the tuna can, Urgent Care was still open...much nicer than ER.

I understand not wanting to pursue disability for your daughter at this time because it is a hassle. At this point, because they have not figured out what is wrong with her, it may be difficult to prove that she is disabled.

Because one of the qualifying factors is that the disability must be predicted to last more than 12 months to qualify, with an unknown cause, proof may be difficult at all times.

Jim's wife is an expert on this (I am not) and may have better advice, but, just using my intuition, I would want you to be further down the road towards getting this proved up. When she gets denied, you will be able to appeal. SS may want to have her seen by their doctors for evaluation.

Hope everyone with injuries heals well.
