I believe I read earlier that not everyone shares the opinion that this is morbid, since, it's already sold out and I think they are doing a second sailing.

I did a Canada/NE cruise with my sister this fall. Of course we had to do the Titanic tour in Halifax. We went to the local maritime museum, which has a deck chair that was picked up by one of the cable laying ships that went out to recover bodies. They also have some other things that were picked up at that time or came ashore.

We had a super tour guide, that had a few facts that I didn't know about. She said they are expecting huge crowds through out 2012, and she gave an estimate of how many Halifax is expecting in April for the exact dates of the sailing/sinking to mark the 100th aniversary.

I've always been kind of a geek about the age of the great ocean liners, so the Titanic fell into that category.

I would love to do a transatlantic crossing on one of the Cunard ships. Though I think Cunard docks in Brooklyn like Princess. Cool but not as cool as the West side docks in NYC proper.

Isn't the big set that was used in Mexico still around?
