I currently have a reservation at Grand Mayan for a Fri-Fri stay. However, the flight selection to PV is better for a Sat-Sat stay. There is no Grand Mayan availability but I do see Grand Bliss free. Is one better than the other? We are traveling with another couple (no kids), if that makes a difference. I do prefer to be on/close to the beach as well. Thanks.

They are equally far (or close) to the beach. Take the Grand Bliss because it allows you to use the Grand Mayan's pools, etc. The Grand Bliss pools are not finished yet, but the Grand Mayan pools are close by.

Sorry to jump in but I have a question about grand bliss too. Does grand bliss get free internet for exchangers (I heard grand luxxe exchangers do) or is it for a fee like the grand mayans?

I was there a few weeks back; it was supposed to be password protected except for owners, but in reality, it was open through out the building. My guess is it will be free.

I prefer the Grand Bliss because it is a bit more luxurious; it is also much quieter throughout as most of the pool action is in front of the GM buildings - depends on what you want.

Thanks. I exchanged via RCI so is there a fee to change my reservation?

I think there is a fee by RCI to switch, but you should call to make sure. Maybe the fee would be worth it to get the flights you want and the Grand Bliss is above the Grand Mayan in quality and is newer.
Are the RCI points to switch the same for Grand Bliss and Grand Mayan? My guess is Grand Bliss would be more points to get.

I was just got back from the Grand Luxxe. There's a bit of construction going on around the Grand Bliss. If you don't want to risk that kind of noise, you may want to opt into the GM. The GM buildings are set back far enough that you don't hear the activities at the pools (but those activities are what we go for). THe upside of the Grand Bliss is that it is brand new and the suites are beautiful.
