Marriott replacement week in Dest Program

Can someone help answer a few basic questions that interval had a hard time answering?
1) if I cancel an exchange thru Interval (done via destin program) does the replacement week I get have the EXACT same power as the Marriott I deposited? Do I lose Marriott preference? (One interval rep said yes, the other said You definitely don't lose preference??)
2) Other than the change in expiration, is there any other differences from the week I orig deposited?
3) If I do an exchange with the replacement wk am I later allowed to cancel that wk and get an additional 12 mos of use with another replacement wk? (I don't think so, but it would be nice!) Thx!!

1) If your original week was a marriott, your cancellation replacement week will carry marriott preference
2) not very much
3) You cannot cancel replacement week

One additional fact - if you are unable to use your week before its one year expiration, you can extend your cancellation replacement week by either 3, 6 or 12 months (for $69, $99 or $189). You can actually do it after the week expires, but once you extend the week, it can only be used during flex change. Below is quoted language from Interval regarding that issue:

"Each Cancellation Replacement week may be extended twice, no more than three months after the expiration date. Extended Cancellation Replacement weeks are limited to exchange within the Flexchange system. Please refer to Terms and Conditions of Individual Membership and Exchange for complete details."

The cancellation. Will defintwky carry the preference as I just booked a memorial day week at oceana palms with a cancelled surfwatch deposit week. I couldn't see the oceana palms week with my Starwood week, just to give an example to back up what others have already posted.
