We have overlapping reservations. Owner will be present, have 2 reservations in his name.

1st reservation starts Friday for 7 nights for a 2BR unit
2nd reservation starts Saturday for 6 nights in a 3BR unit

Hate to burn a guest confirmation, has anyone experienced this (did you put a guest confirmation on one of the reservation)? We are 15 days out today and reservations is closed. Resort says they have nothing to do with this and to call reservations tomorrow.

Sandi,
Burn the Guest Certificate. Better to use the GC than to lose BOTH the reservations and the points IF the great Wyndham computer in the sky coughs on those 2 reservations.

$99 in vacation time is NOT that much. Just go to the Owners Update to reearn your money - TWICE.

One needs to go to your name. Hopefully you are the deed. If you are listed as an owner, reservations can restore the guest pass. Get on the on-line reservation system ASAP, it is open until 11 p.m. or so, I think. Get a guest pass listed before the overnight update occurs otherwise you may loss the reservation tonight.

Ok, Ok

I will do it right now. I just hate those darn guest confirmations and have burned several through my ignorance.

Thanks for keeping me straight!

You should be able to add the guest tonight online (until 11:45 pm east coast time)

If however someone else is on your account (a spouse perhaps) one of you can be on one reservation, one on the other

Ron gave you good advice. Whenever we vacation with more than one room, we always put my name on one reservation and my husband's on the other. Tha way we avoid the guest confirmation.

Yes, added Guest Confirmation, thanks!

Thanks everyone, good advice.

Unfortunately only one person on the account (Dad's) and so we burn a lot of Guest Confirmations.

(And, yikes, internet working intermittently, so thankful I got it on okay and know for sure that family is all taken care of for our upcoming vacation).

5 rooms, took 4 GC's (was asking for advice to fudge on the last one since the reservation is slightly different time frame, but still overlapping.

Oh what I've learn about Guest Confirmations in the past 6 months, have literally wasted 6 for sure. That's $600 bucks, does that mean I have to attend 6 owner updates? I'd end up in divorce court, $600 will seem like chump change. I better quit while I'm ahead.

To the beach! :cheer:

1. Does that actually work in avoiding the problem?
2. Even if it works, is it a legitimate way of doing it, or could they possbily still deny you the second room without a GC?

When making the original reservation use the other owner option and select your spouses or other owners name if you want to put the reservation in your spouse’s name in order to avoid the reservation overlap problem. This is the legitimate way to get this done without a guest certificate.

I found the hard way that if you add your spouse later to the reservation it costs you a guest certificate.

I have done this many, many times with no issues.

It works, I have done it on a family get together in Myrtle Beach and it is authorized. Please see below which was copied from the Wyndham FAQs

If you are traveling with a large party and need more than one (1) unit, you can make one (1) reservation in your name and one reservation in the name of another owner on the account, such as your spouse. This lets us know that we have owners, not guests, checking in to the resort.
If there are no other owners on your account, be sure to use one of your complimentary guest confirmations for the additional unit so that the reservation is not cancelled.

We did it and it worked with no problems. I just told the check in lady when she gave me an odd look - that the "girls" were staying in one room and the "guys" in the other.

I didn't add my wife to our first few deeds so the last one I bought I added her and now the system shows her as an additional owner on the account.

I'd appreciate opinions on how to title the deeds. Actually I think I'll start a new thread with a hypothetical situation :) Thanks everyone for your help.

Please the new thead with a hypothetical would be the best way. I will respond to the new thread. Your example should be one that reflects whether the contract is an orginal purchase from Wyndham or Fairfield or if was a resale.
