Hello !

This is my first post here (I think :) )
So I take the opportunity to thank contributors for sharing their experience and advices - always usefull!

I bought on eBay a resale week at marriott's Ko Olina beach club last year. It was my first purchase of a "traditional" timeshare.
Everything went fine, I'm well registered with Marriott, and am able to book my week (and pay MF !)

However, I didn't receive a copy of any official document confirming I am the owner (title of property or whatever)

My questions are: Is it normal? How to make sure that I am, indeed, the rightful owner? I find it strange not to have anything, expect Marriott's confirmation...

I didn't ask the closing company nor agent yet, prefer to have TUGgers opinion first :)

Thanks,
Jean

The closing company should have sent you a copy of the recorded deed after the county recorded it.

Hawaii takes forever to return the original deeds to the closing company. You might want to follow up wiht whoever did the closing and ask if they got it or you can go online to the Bureau of Conveyances and order one for around $10.00

Thank you both for the very prompt replies!

I've asked the closing company to send a copy to us.
Anyway, we found records of the transaction on the website of the bureau, so everything should be fine.

Thanks again
Jean

Just went through the same thing with a couple of Marriott Oceanwatch units I purchased. Marriott got my account set up and contacted me via email. Checked the Horry County website and found both deeds had been registered correctly. When I contacted the closing company they emailed me a PDF of the deed but no hard copy. They told me since it was filed electronically there would be no hard copy coming. First time I'd heard that one! Not a big deal to me I just printed off the PDF's.
