We have received a cold call from Charley Ann Braybrook of World Sales Marketing, Apartado de Correos 155 • 07702 Mahon • Menorca • Baleares • Spain. +44 844 991 2131  www.world-sales-marketing.comenquiries@world-sales-marketing.com offerring an astromically (and unbelievably) good price for our timeshare weeks in Tenerife. They have given us bank details of account into which the 'surety' of 1,400Euros would be paid (upfront by us) and repaid by them (???)when all the documentation etc was completed in 6 - 8 weeks. I am awaiting their return call and if their bank which is to hold the 'surety' is willing to provide a bank guarantee drawn on a UK bank against the 1,400E then we will talk - but whose betting that this will end the conversation!! Has anyone else heard of this particular scam?

Doesn't matter...

Sounds like the same scams being run continuously here in the US. Pay an upfront fee (call it surety, title search, legal fees, etc.) because we have a buyer for your timeshare....and they're going to pay 10, 20 or 100x the going rate. Of course it's legitimate!!! Just give us the money, as we have a money back guarantee!.

Look at it from another view.

I call you and say "you're in Scotland, and I have an American Buyer for your Whisky. An American corporation needs bottles of Glenlivet for conventions. We can get you 500 Pounds per bottle!, but we need you to pay us 50 pounds (fully refundable of course!) to have an expert examine the bottle to be sure it's truly Glenlivet and then ship it to the US...you can pay by wire draft or Credit Card or Bank Cheque".

Would you fall for that?

Why would you fall for the same scam for your timeshare?

Cold calls on timeshare are a red flag of fraud.

If I recall correctly, this outfit is listed on Shark Alley over at www.timesharetalk.co.uk/index.php?board=17.0 Beware!

Since the demise of the old Crimeshare site that was run by some of the officers of the Timeshare Consumers Association in the UK, Shark Alley is the best place to look up the scam artists of the timeshare world, and to post your own warnings.

This looks and feels like a PCC type SCAM. Up front fee is the first obvious sign. However other indicators. The address given is a POST OFFICE Box number in Menorca, Spain. The phone number is in the UK and is an 0844 number - unable to trace geographic location. The WEB site is very basic and lacks any information about the company.

AVOID BIG TIME !!!!!
