I booked a studio at the Surf Club earlier this week and then found out my boyfriend and his daughter may be able to join my daughter and I so I was expecting to exchange again in order to get a 1 or 2 bedroom but I noticed the sleeping symbol on II and also on my II confirmation says a studio sleeps 4 total, 2 privately...well I've seen one picture on the Marriott website which looked like a studio and I don't see how they can say a studio sleeps 2 privately, it looks like the bed and sofabed are in the same room, which I would expect for a studio. Can someone who's familiar with the studios at the Surf Club confirm this? Or maybe I just don't understand the sleeping designation, does it mean as long as there's no more than 2 people in the room then you'd be sleeping privately?

The studios have 1 bed (queen I think) and 1 sleeper sofa in the same room. There is no privacy.

Yes. II considers two people in a room to be sleeping privately. So for a 2BR unit with a living room, you will often see 6 privately. Two in the master, two in the second bedroom and two in the living room. All must also have private access to a bathroom. Most 2BR units have access to the master bath from both the living room/kitchen side and the master bedroom side.
