Remind me why I moved to SC!

After 16 years of living in SW Florida we moved to Sun City Hilton Head in 2005 after being chased out of the state by many hurricanes. We decided that was as far north as we could go. We found the temperatures there in the winter averaged 10 to 15 degrees cooler than SW Florida, but the summers were just as hot (maybe even hotter). After 4 years, we packed up and moved back to Florida. It's suppose to be 70 today.

It better get warmer. I will be there in 3 weeks.

I won't complain anymore. My SIL posted on FB that his toothpaste froze and he's in Afghanistan! He was supposed to return home yesterday but they keep pushing back the date. Hope he makes it home in time for Christmas.
My DS finally made it out of Afghanistan and is now in Hawaii hoping to get back to the mainland sooner than later. We hope to have him home for Christmas as well. Like your SIL, he was also delayed getting out of the sand box. Part of it had to do with President Obama's visit (one day delay) and part due to weather after they got to some other "-stan" country.

It was so hot there this past summer. I can't imagine wearing full body armour and going on patrol in 120 degree heat with humidity. Now it is so cold the toothpaste freezes! No wonder the locals are cranky.

We are going to be at 85 degrees this weekend in sunny southern California. Come on over!

It's been down right wacky here in SoCal lately. It was summer like here about a month ago, then the temps dropped and it was in the 30's overnight & highs in the 50's for about two weeks. Then middle of last week the temps crept upward and it was sunny and in the 70's today in West LA. Warmer tomorrow & Monday and then it starts going back to rainy & cold conditions again by Thursday.

(I do sport a nice tan though :ignore: )

This is normal for Southern California. Warm days interspersed with cool ones is par for this time of the year. It is supposed to be 82 tomorrow where I live. Monday will be 79 and then the temps drop into the 60's for a few days. What I would like to see is some rain that we badly need.

I would love to see some rain for two reasons. First, I can save money on water for my yards. Secondly, I hate the constant reminders by my water suppliers to make sure you don't use the water on certain days. Even though I have a timer on my sprinkler system, I still have not figured out how to have it run on every other days.

Do you have some form of water rationing in OC. We don't have any rationing here. I agree with saving money. Can't you select the days you want to water with your timer? Mine allows you to program it however you want, days, length of time for each station, time of day, etc.

Yes, we have water rationing in which only on certain days we can water. My timer can do those things, but I have just been to lazy to take the time to figure it out. :)

Our timer is very easy and intuitive to set. You just move the switch to each day of the week and select On or Off for that day.
