Looks like limited footprint currently but they are expanding to new locations including the Sphere & T-Mo Arena in '26 which would be nice...
Hope to catch it during our travels someday & (live to) share with all of you :)
(PS: The app shows a nice area in Vegas strip that it covers...)

I haven't tried Zoox, but after our positive experience with Waymo, no concerns trying something else.

It's Vegas. How do they handle when someone spills food/drink, or pukes in it? Does a camera record it and dispatch Rosie from the Jetsons to clean it up? Do they wait for the next customer to report it?

Yeah, with a Margarita stand on every corner, that is a risky business

Not sure re mechanics of that but I am sure they are aware of this, as this is Vegas & this is part of life there (just like NOLA), esp as there geofenced area is really focused around the Strip: Valley View & Decatur on West, Russel on south, Eastern on East, until just above Spring Mtn on North; includes Chinatown too ....
"Designated' stops include Resorts world (close to HGVC Blvd), Fashion Show mall (close to HGVC FS aka Trump), NY NY, Luxor, Topgolf, Area 15, per Google AI (presuming/hoping not hallucinating)...
Not sure if it is still fixed stops only or anywhere point-to-point now, like Waymo...
Will report back, if/when I get to use it...
TY!

AI explains...

'Both Waymo and Zoox handle a soiled vehicle by taking it out of service and dispatching it to a depot for manual cleaning by human attendants. To deter this behavior and cover costs, they also charge the responsible passenger a cleaning fee.

Waymo
Waymo's process relies on a combination of technology and human intervention:
  • Passenger Reporting: Riders who encounter a messy vehicle or who cause a mess themselves can report it through the app.
  • Internal Monitoring: Waymo uses internal cameras and potentially AI vision systems to help monitor car cleanliness.
  • Depot Cleaning: When a mess is reported or detected, the vehicle is routed back to a local depot after the current ride is complete. At the depot, human attendants perform a thorough cleaning and inspection, which includes hand-washing the interior and exterior to protect the sensitive sensors.
  • Cleaning Fees: Waymo charges a cleaning fee to riders who leave messes behind.
    • $50 if the rider self-reports the mess during the ride.
    • $100 for the first violation if the issue is unreported, with increased fees and potential account suspension for repeat offenses.

Zoox
Zoox follows a similar approach, focusing on removing the vehicle from service for professional cleaning:
  • Technician Checks: Vehicles are checked for cleanliness by technicians, likely when they return to the depot for charging or maintenance.
  • Rider Notification: If something is left behind, the company can immediately let the rider know through speakers outside the car.
  • Depot Cleaning: A soiled vehicle is recalled for cleaning by staff at a dedicated facility.
  • Cleaning Fees: While specific amounts for Zoox are less publicly detailed than Waymo, internal app code indicates they do charge an additional cleaning fee to a rider's final cost if the vehicle requires extra cleaning after their trip. The exact fee structure likely mirrors industry standards to cover the cost and effort of remediation.
In both cases, human intervention is the key to handling a serious mess, as current automated systems focus more on external sensor cleaning (e.g., using wipers and nozzles) rather than interior biohazard cleanup'.

Older video (before they rolled out the app etc but shows the vehicles details & overall ride experience... lots of Insta videos re this though..

This one has an experience of the app too..
