Always multiple ways to maximize your savings with Apple. I have found their refurbished products to be very good. They will take your old machine in on trade. And now their Apple card offers a nice rebate :)

Best time to buy Apple products is mid-late summer -that's when they have the back to school incentives. I purchased my most recent MacBook through one of the airline shopping portals (United Shopping maybe?) and got 6x the points for my purchase.
