It will be late winter. There will be patches of dirty snow around. Jackson lake and Yellowstone lake will be frozen. Yellowstone Park may or may not be open. A couple of years ago we exchanged into Jackson for Memorial day week. The road was just opened to Old Faithful & W. Yellowstone. We stopped for a picnic, and the table had 6 feet of snow on it. We had a tailgate picnic.

We were in yellowstone last year. the road from Tetons to Yellowstone did NOT open until May 3rd.

I would not be practical to drive to the north or west entrances from Tetons in April.

You need to rethink that.

The last two ridges to open are on the continental divide passes, the one from Lake Yellowstone/West Thumb to either South entrance to Tetons or the West Thumb to Old Faithful area.

Do a search on road openings for yellowstone.
