I saw this on YouTube and ended up finding this article. Seems like this guy did everything right. He was tossed at least 8 ft. I think he broke his hip.

Terrifying! That poor little kid with his Grandpa :(

Everyone is saying they did everything right, but they look too close to me. Recommendation 75 feet or yards? One report said they were 100 feet (I, think) away...that's too close. 100 yards would be the length of a football field. The YT video sure looks a whole lot closer to me. I don't want to see them that close. I'm happy to get view from behind the fence in San Francisco. There was a great still shot of the beast charging. The Bison was the emblem of a former bank where I was employed. Loved giving my best customers a little box of chocolate bisons at Christmas.

oh! Correction the Park is saying 75 feet (25 yards) for all wildlife except bears and wolves. Yeah, that's too close for Bison with rutting season lasting all summer - June through September and now 2 serious injuries.
