Wyndham vs Hgvc or Worldmark for Hawaii availability?

Please don’t move me to Hawaii because I am expressly looking for insights of current Wyndham owners who ALSO have some personal comparison knowledge on HGVC and Worldmark.

So I have enough points to book 8 weeks of 1br in Hawaii for winter. My concern is availability at 10 months at various Wyndham properties and either having to take a 2br and run down points for less weeks or eating a studio and living like a barbarian.

I can plan 10 Mo out but was wondering if I should dump some Wynd and get HGVC or Worldmark points to bridge any Wyndham gaps? Sense Wyndham easier avail than WM but know idea about HGVC.

Thoughts?

Worldmark availability for Hawaii generally goes at 13 months exactly. However, if you have a big account you can book long reservations in one go. So at 13 months you could book 4 weeks in a one bedroom for 40k WM and not have to move rooms.

You ask a loaded question.
It depends on which island you decide is your favorite?
What resort do you want to stay at?

In general I would say Wyndham would be the easiest reservations to get.
Worldmark Hawaii resorts go fast.
Hilton Hawaiian Village is a very high demand destination.

If you like Bali Hai I don’t think you will have any trouble getting the reservations you want at 10 months. We have been going to Hawaii for several years now and have been able to get anything we want in the winter. Christmas and New Year’s Eve might be the exception but we stay home with family for the Holidays anyway

I recently was able to book HGVC kings land on the big island at exactly 9 months (which is exactly when it opens to non ARP owners in the Hilton system). Have heard that big island isn’t usually a problem. Some of the other clubs, yes (no Maui with Hilton).

I own in all three and in my experience for Hawaii, Worldmark is the most difficult and HGVC the easiest. The Worldmark inventory opens at 13 months and goes very quickly, and I usually don't plan trips to Hawaii that far in advance. HGVC opens at 9 or 6 months depending on the resort (without owner priority) and I've generally been able to book the resort and unit type I wanted.

What is your long term luck with Wyndham at 10 months?

Much, much better than Worldmark. I find availability with Wyndham is generally good at 10 months.

There are no Wyndham resorts on Maui, so we use Worldmark there. Waitlist has always come through for me at Worldmark Kihei, but sometimes not until a month out. For Kauai and the Big Island, Wyndham has always had something available at 10 months out. I've also used RCI many times to trade into Wyndham resorts like Shearwater on Kauai---with RCI it's half the points that Wyndham requires. I have back to back Shearwater reservations through RCI for next Jan/Feb. right now. Don't have any experience with HGVC.

FWIW there are RCI's available on Maui. We are booked to stay there in October at Sands of Kahana.
(Never been before, but once stayed nearby at the Royal Kahana. It's a nice area right on the beach;
and can you say Maui Brewing Company?!)

Wyndham Waikiki Beach Walk

Wyndham Bali Hai Villas

Wyndham Waikiki at Royal Garden

Wyndham Kona Hawaiian

are among the top 10 resorts for Club Pass reservations from developer purchased WorldMark owners to reserve at 9 months.

It must be EASY for resale or developer Wyndham owners to reserve at 10 month, and probably at lower cost than HGVC.
