Anyone have any opinions on this resort? Thanks in advance your input is appreciated.

When I saw this post, I had to look into this resort. I thought that maybe Wyndham had a timeshare inside the Tropicana, much like Hilton does with the Flamingo and others.

Sadly the resort (and it looks sad) is just on Tropicana avenue. It looks like a rental community turned into timeshare. No ameneties other than a small pool in the center. Just like a rental community. The worst part is that they are asking over 200K points a night for the cheapest 2-bedroom unit.

Rooms at nice resorts on the strip are not that expensive, I don't get the timeshare appeal for resorts off the strip. Especially when they are just plain residences.

Thanks for the input Joe. Was hoping to find someone that has stayed at this resort recently. You are correct points are on the high side. It would be hard to beat the Grand Desert and its location.

Has anyone else recently stayed at and have any opinions on this resort?

We stayed there for a few nights five years ago. It appeared to be
mostly a Worldmark with a few Wyndham rooms. It was comfortable,
but otherwise unremarkable. It was convenient to the Orleans where
we were attending an event. There is a park of sorts across the street.

Both Grand Desert and Desert Blue strike me as more comfortable
and closer to the Strip. We've started staying at Desert Blue instead,
especially when we have more things to do in the area west of the Strip.

I like Grand Desert but thought I would give the Tropicana a try.
