Has anyone stayed or visited the New Wyndham Towers On The Grove in North Myrtle Beach, S.C.?

Not sure if it is even open yet. If so, what did you think of it. So far it is not listed in TUG reviews.

mbger,

Wyndham Towers On The Grove is definitely open and VOI sales in the Myrtle Beach area for Wyndham property focuses on that new property.

I have visited the lobby area of the resort the other day and it met my expectations.

Below is a link about the resort and its current status.

Drove past it; does that count?

Last week, we stayed at Ocean Blvd and drove past the WTOTG. It's only about twenty blocks away on Ocean Drive. We didn't stop, but I've heard it's really nice on the inside. It is right on the ocean and right on Ocean Drive without much land around it. It is a large "footprint" on a small piece of property. The street in front of it seems to be in a little bit of disrepair (a fair amount of patches to the pavement). The location is about as far away from Myrtle Beach proper that you can get. If you think Ocean Blvd is far from downtown MB, then this is even farther. (This is really the area that many years ago was referred to as Cherry Grove. It's all been incorporated into North Myrtle Beach now.)I'd like to try a stay sometime soon, but I've got a weekend vacation just about every month for the next six months or so. I was told that the property had sixteen different configurations as far as unit size is concerned. I can't verify that; it was "Wyndham-speak" at our "update."
EZ Ed:)

I stayed at Towers on the Grove before it became a ts. I had a one br oceanfront. It was very nice but rather dark and manly looking to me. I prefer brighter colors but it is right on the beach. shaggy

Just returned from a week at Ocean Blvd and took a sales tour of Towers on the Grove. Only a three bedroom unit available to check out, but it was very well appointed throughout. Not as roomy as Ocean Blvd 3BR Presidential, but very adequate. Only a portion of the units have been converted to TS so far and when we tried to get a reservation, only one 1BR was available for the week of Aug 6, 2011. The area around Towers is more residential than Ocean Blvd, but a large grocery store is less than a quarter mile walk from there. The pool is smallish and comes with water slide; it is partly under the cover of the second story overhang. It is still a work in progress administratively, with the new Wyndham Asset Allocation program just recently energized (details are a bit skimpy yet and not available online.) My family and I were impressed enough to want to reserve there for next summer, as I said. The point requirement is surprisingly lower than expected (which didn't help us since there wasn't an available unit larger than 1BR). The resort benefits from a feeling of "smaller".....less congestion, parking garage across the street. The description of the resort linked by "Goofyhobbie" (Jul29) is right on from what we saw and heard.
