Just noticed that Barclays only awarded 1 point per maintenance fee dollar on my September and October statements. Did an online chat with one of Barclay's idiots who told me the points had expired. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, points that were never even issued have already expired! Contacted Wyndham Rewards. They informed me that Wyndham's new payments aren't being correctly recognized by Barclays as maintenance fees. They assured me an adjustment to my account is forthcoming, probably when Barclays runs my November statement. I asked if this will also resolve the problem going forward. They could not provide such assurance.

It's definitely a known issue. I have been working with Wyndham on this item for the past two months now. I've got a case open with the Office of the President at Barclays and am making some progress - but it's painful as the primary cardholder on our Barclays account is actually my wife (i.e. not me) and it's proving to be painful to get them to deal with me - as my wife has zero interest in what I do for the timesharing pieces and is usually at work when I have time to do this stuff. Sigh. The good news is there's definitely visibility on the scope of the reported issue and from what I can ascertain a fix for all impacted accounts is a work in progress - but I don't have details to share at this time. Hang in there!

Mine started with the August MF, and so that was before my first MF via Paymentus. Opened a Barclays ticket, received a letter saying they'd fix. Two months later, not fixed. Yeah, everyone's in the same boat. I don't really understand how it could be a problem with Wyndham not categorizing something properly, as it already says Timeshares as the merchant category, which is the category it has used for ages. I am pretty sure the problem is with Barclays not understanding the word Timeshares anymore.

How does this card work for MF's? I cancelled it right after we made our developer purchase.

We message Barclay on our website we use from them to monitor and pay our bill and informed them concerning the situation. We just received a letter stating that the missing points will be awarded on our next statement.

The answer varies dependent upon the type of card you have. There have been several iterations of Barclay's Wyndham cards over the years. The current Earners/Earners Plus cards give either 3x or 4x for MFs, here's a link to the breakdown of benefits for the current card types:

When I went to a Shell presentation a few years ago while staying at The Donatello, the pitch was the credit card. It was so ridiculous. The salesperson was such a liar. 10X on everything you buy would pay your MF's. What a joke, and I called him on it.

Same here on my September and October statements. I called after the first statement was short, explained things and was told the missing points would be credited on the next statement and they were. I just called a day or two ago for the October statement and was told the same thing. I have to wait for my next statement to make sure they show up.

Two observations; First, they will probably tell you to call Wyndham, but Wyndham actually has nothing to do with it. In fact I did call Wyndham and they told me that. The problem is that Paymentus is apparently not coding these payments correctly, so they fall into the 1X point category. Second, they may try to play dumb for a while, saying they have no ability to add points, so you have to be persistent (and hopefully polite) and explain it again, I didn't have to ask for a supervisor, but I did have to ask them to take a look at my prior statements and they could see the issue clearly.

Good luck.

This looks like it was fixed in the December statement, for me anyway. December and January gave me the proper WR points.

Yes - the issue has been remedied as of early January - should be effective for all cardholders at this point. Now Wyndham Rewards embarks on a process to remediate lost points for all impacted cardholders between 8/2022 and this month. Stay tuned for more information from Wyndham Rewards on remediation process (not sure how this will be communicated).

I used points to get the $ credit on my maintenance fees back in September. The credit never came through. I fixed that issue, I transferred my fees to another card with higher point values.

Yea IMO the best CC to use for MF is just the Citi Double Cash 2% card or Wells Fargo 2%. I find timing/shopping around for your airfare purchase is cheaper than using rewards to pay for it a lot of times anyways.
