As we near the finish of our week here in Kauai, I wanted to note that Wyndham Shearwater is one of the nicest and most well kept resorts we've stayed in.
The place is really clean, inside and out and the units are very well appointed with all you'd ever need. There is on site staff who are here for just about anything you need and with the other Wyndham resorts relatively close by you have access to a real nice resort features including spa and workout facilities.
We exchanged in via RCI points and ended up in the upstairs unit with the least ocean view...and THAT view is amazing. I can only imagine what the more wrap around views must be in the other units. We've been very happy here and I was thinking tonight as I sat in the hot tub how well kept this place is, which is particularly difficult for any ocean front property. They do a great job here.
That said, there are two things which make me curious. The first is the fairly serious safety issue of NOT fencing the area surrounding the pool to prevent small children from wandering in. I know of no other place in the United States where the pool area is left unfenced. Not that I don't appreciate NOT having the fence and gate, but it is a potential safety and liability problem for owners here. The other thing is why there are no outdoor grills to use? It would seem a natural to locate on the side of the clubhouse but alas no.
That said, this is really a wonderful place and Shearwater owners should know it's being cared for very well!!!
