We are Wyndham VIP (not silver, gold, or platinum). We just returned from 12 days at the Kona Hawaiian Village and did not get any mid week trash and tidy....nothing, although on night 11 they came by and asked if we wanted anything. We declined, since we were leaving the next day. We have always received this service during our last seven stays there in seven years. We didn't ask for it during the week because we kept thinking they would be doing it. Do they no longer do this service or did someone in housekeeping goof up. We love this resort have never had any complaints. We did ask about this when we checked out and the gal said they had changed it and the only people who got trash and tidy were gold, silver or platinum owners or those who checked in through RCI....this doesn't make any sense...why would RCI get midweek service and not a Wyndham owner.

A few years ago, there were three 3 levels of VIP....VIP, Gold and Platinum.. Now they have attached the "Silver" name to the first level so now the 3 levels are; Silver, Gold and Platinum. You are one of the three, or you are not VIP

Im not sure what level you are, Im guessing the new Silver. Mid week Clean and Tidy (not Trash and Tidy) is a benefit of Gold and Platinum VIP, not Silver

We are silver VIP. Since we don't get the midweek "clean and tidy", it would be nice if they would provide some items so we could tidy up the bathrooms and vacuum.

If we would stay for three weeks, would they clean once a week?

I havent stayed at Kona , but Ive been able to track down a carpet sweeper or vacuum cleaner if I need one. And I haul my trash to the dumpster (or trash chute) myself

I assume 3 week long reservations, scheduled back to back would get the full treatment each week, if thats what you want. Id ask at the resort at checkin or call before I arrive.

Thanks. We take care of the trash....and keep things clean, but this is the first time they haven't come by during the week and we stayed longer this trip. I do realize that things have changed and gold and platinum owners do deserve more privileges. Don't understand why RCI bookings would have the privilege over a Wyndham Silver VIP owner, but then I guess we don't always understand why they implement some of these rules.

Tidy service

We don't own Wyndham and always get a mid week clean. I don't understand how a owner gets no service and non owners get great service. We are currently doing two weeks in a Wyndham and we had a mid week clean and a complete clean at end of first week.;)I believe this is the same with Marriott and I do not understand how the tidy services work. We are owners at Marriott Grande Vista and we use to get a mid week clean, not any more. The result has been noticed by my wife and I. The rooms seem to be more run down and not everyone takes care of them as we do. We treat each timeshare as our own home and feel lucky to be able to stay at the resorts.

I am a bit surprised that you received no mid-week service. My experience at Kona Hawaiian Village has been that the staff is one the friendliest and most accommodating of any Wyndham resort.

In the future, I would suggest that you request anything that you feel that you deserve, but are not receiving. Be a bit of a squeaky wheel.

Danny Baker....I too feel that the rooms get run down faster if not cleaned regularly. We too treat our timeshares like home, in fact, I went out and bought cleaner for the smooth top range before I would use it, so the residue that was on it wouldn't get cooked on more.

jebloomquist...this is the only problem we have ever encountered at Kona Hawaiian Village. It is and still remains our favorite resort. We were just very surprised about what we were told about the "new" cleaning policy. Albert wasn't there when we checked out and he knows more thank some of the others about how things are. We should have enquired about it and certainly will the next time.
