Wyndham points and Avenue Plaza Mardi Gras week
Am I missing something?

I received an email this morning:
"As our nation honors its veterans, active-duty military, and military families this month, Club Wyndham owners have a meaningful way of showing appreciation to these heroes. You can contribute to sending a military family on vacation by donating your Club Wyndham points to Vacations for Vets, the charitable program run by IHOOT (In Honor of Our Troops Foundation, Inc.).
Log into your account dashboard and choose Deposits & RCI from the menu, then click on the Gift Your Points button. You can also contact your Vacation Planning Center at 800-251-8736. Show our military and their families that November's National Veterans and Military Families Month means so much to us all."

I have a few points left over this year, so thought I would do it. When I log in to do so, I see the message
"Give Points to a Charity - The Charitable Gift Deposit window for your membership has expired. Points must be deposited in the first nine months of your current use year."

You are not missing anything. Points need to have at least 3 months of remaining usage to be donated to the Vacations for Vets program. Someone at Wyndham missed the fact that Veterans Day/Month is too late to make a donation for any owner with a January use year.

That's a pretty big miss LOL. I think I'm going to explicitly mention this on my Wyndham call today.

Given that they have been trying for years to align everyone to January, it does seem flawed. I thought they were making an exception to the 90 day policy until I got to the page.

Another corporate smoke blow, appear to be doing something to support someone, but really it's a nothing burger that cost nothing and does nothing for no one. It's just more marketing and lies and people fall for it over and over again. Always be selling the sizzle when there is no steak. They can post happy military folks on their website and gain good will from veterans as they screw them over. It's the American way, smile and wave with one hand, stab in the back with the other.

Best guess if you called - they might make an exception - but they aren't going to reprogram the online system for one exception - so if you try to do it online - it's not going to work.

"its the thought that counts"
