Is it just me?
1: Phone recording answered TRAVEL AND LEISURE which it was still Wyndham Vacation Club 2 days ago.

2: Greeting recording said Wyndham was closed due to unforeseen circumstances please try back later? Did they get hit with a natural disaster? I’m in Cabo and not paying attention to the weather. Or did a higher power smite them for being unethical?

3: I couldn’t confirm a waitlist reservation nor pay for a guest confirmation. Which according to my benefits info I have 3 guest confirmations left for 2024

4: One of the owners name is no longer showing up on my owner drop down menu. I’m certain his name is on an existing contract.

Feel free to chime in.

I'm going to guess the "unforeseen circumstances" are that it's the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Travel and Leisure is the company that owns the Wyndham Timeshare Brand.

Ya think the Wednesday before Thanksgiving affected the website too? I’m aware of the Travel and Leisure situation. So odd that the recording changed after I had contacted them 2 days ago. Thanks for your input.

It's not the Wednesday before Thanksgiving in the Philippines, which is where their operators are, But I noticed earlier the website had a banner saying they were closing early for Thanksgiving.

I've always thought it was a bit unfair for the staff there. I wouldn't want an unpaid day off for the holidays of some other country.

It also makes staffing much more difficult for the holidays they celebrate in their country.

These jobs exist in foreign countries because labor costs are so low and quite honestly these are probably good jobs compared to what exists there. So having an unpaid day off every once in a while probably beats not having a job.

The real question we all should be asking is why these companies can't pay good enough wages to keep the jobs here in America.

I tend to believe it's basically greed driven by the stock market system expecting the impossible of forever growth. This will also become less and less possible as the population shrinks. Of course, nobody on Wall Street cares about much more than next quarter, so if the business flames out in 3 quarters, not their problem. Anyway, I kind of expect these jobs will change or go away as AI comes on line - honestly with chat options for the last 10+ years, I'm still kind of amazed by the businesses that MAKE you call in to do something. The only answer I have is like with TSs if they make it "hard", some number of people will pay but not use the service, so extra profit I guess.

I think the tech/development team at Wyn is either under-skilled or under-funded (or both). Given how terrible the last new website has been (at least for Worldmark) the idea that they could eliminate phoning seems...unlikely.

If they ever got everything to work I'd probably never phone, but that hasn't been the case.

Working in IT I'm going to assume under funded and/or under staffed for the work load. Also, don't know how much is contracted out, which can cause it's own issues.
