Wyndham Certified Exit and Existing Reservations

Hi,

We have family members who are no longer interested in owning their one and only small timeshare with Wyndham and are wanting to pass it down. We plan to call the certified exit line when they come back to our state and formally start the process together. We know it will take some time for the transfer to occur. As a result, we have booked a Thanksgiving reservation under their account and wanted to book something for next spring.

I've seen comments about existing reservations getting cancelled during the transfer process. Has anyone else had experience with the certified exit program through Wyndham Cares? We wanted to rollover the rest of the points in their current use year to next year as well, but didn't want to pay the transfer fee and not have them actually transfer when we take the account over.

Thanks!

I would wait to start the process until after your last vacation, whenever that is.

We used Certified Exit to give back our Shell ownership. We were told that we couldn’t start the process until all existing reservations were completed because they’d be canceled.

I find this one of the more challenging (frustrating) aspects of certified exit (and why I didn't follow thru with using it a few years ago). As with all things Wyndham, you research, you ask, you take your best guess at how things will work, and then see what really happens. My best guess at how certified exit will work, is that if that is all you have is one contract, they will cancel your reservations. I think if you have multiple contracts and the points in the other contracts to cover the reservations, your reservations will be okay. Kind of scary. If I could time things so I had no outstanding reservations before starting the process, as others have suggested, that is the way I would go.
