I have a 2 Bedroom sleeps 6 for an upcoming stay at Wyndham Great Smokies Lodge. There will only be 3 or 4 staying but I might have 2 additional friends join us some days at the water park. Are they the daily paper wrist bands and I can just tell them I have 6 or do we use our keys or are they give you rubber bands for the week?

They are wrist bands for the week.

When you get there they will give you bands for everyone who is currently there. When your other guests get there just go to the front desk and let them know your other guests have arrived and you would like to get their wrist bands.

One time we were in the same situation...they went ahead and gave us the bands for the whole party instead of making us come back down. Maybe luck of the draw.

I have been there a couple of times. They’ll replace bands but will check the room guest list as well. The bands are the heavy paper type (material like a FEDEX or USPS overnight envelope) that have a sticky tab and rip when you take them off.

To make things easier, I would just put everyone’s name on the room and get all the bands at check-in since you are still within the occupancy limits.

It’s a fun place to go, especially in the summer.

I just looked this resort up it looks amazing for a family! Are bands issued to all wyndham owners or just owners deeded at this report. How difficult is it to book a week in a 2 bedroom in summer (Do I need ARP)?
TIA

If you like what Great Smokies Lodge has to offer check out Glacier Canyon. Glacier Canyon is in another Wilderness Territory location in the Wisconsin Dells and has 4 indoor and 4 outdoor waterparks.

You just want to book as early as you can. The pool view rooms are Awesome! I am willing to spend the extra points for one of those rooms...otherwise you get a parking lot view (golf view cost the same as pool view).

We lucked out last year and got the 4 bedroom presidential with the pool view over labor day weekend and the week! We booked that in March of last year and there were plenty of other rooms still available.

We've had no problems booking the room we want every time we go there....you'll love it!

We lucked into a 4 bedroom presidential Golf view once. I thought the golf view was really awesome, but you do have to walk across the parking lot to get to the indoor or outdoor pool areas.

Thanks Ill try to book exactly at 10 months. Funny one of the reviews I read online said to avoid the pool room view rooms due to noise and lack of privacy.

We have been amazed at how little noise makes it into the rooms with the pool view...honestly, we don't even notice it unless we open the door to the patio.

As far as privacy...not an issue...never been concerned about our privacy and we've only stayed in pool view rooms there.

I am at the Great Smokies Lodge right now and the wristbands we were issued are plastic with the plastic snap tab to hold them on. They are relatively comfortable and will hold up to quite a bit. We are in building 7 which is across the parking lot from the water parks, but one advantage we have is being on the 6th floor facing the parking lot and we can see the fireworks from Dollywood every night. While there are certainly more desirable rooms here, there isn't a bad one. While there aren't as many waterparks as Glacier Canyon (I've stayed there several times) it is easier to get to the parks with little kids here. Book as early as possible. I was speaking with the assistant manager this morning and he said that they average 85% occupancy year-round and rarely have an empty room during the summer months.

As for wristbands, if you give the front desk the names at the time of check-in they will give you the wristbands for up to the max occupancy of the room at that time.

I have never stayed there. However, I had a friend stay there several years ago. She had a unit viewing the road. She didn't like it because there was a helicopter launch pad directly across the road. It took off every 30 minutes or so and it was noisy. I'm not sure if that is still there or not.
