First let me say that we have been WM owners since the Trendwest days and do not regret it.... We just attended a presentation at Worldmark Kihei where they tried to get us to "upgrade" to Platinum level. We are Diamond Elite level with 36000 Worldmark Travel-share points. They offered us 29000 points, that would take us to Platinum status. But.... to get to founders status we would need 80,000 points total.
The big selling point was being able to use Vacasa for vacations using Rapid Rewards Points. We were told we could convert WM points to RR points to use for Vacasa. But I could not find a place that showed a conversion rate between the two. I did find a conversion for Wyndham points for comparison.
"The standard conversion rate is 1,000 Club Wyndham points to 400 Wyndham Rewards points. Only future Use Year points may be converted and must be done so before the Use Year begins. " A one bedroom with Vacasa is 15000 RR points per night... Or 105,000 for the week. Unless my math is wrong, this means you would need over half a million Wyndham points to book one room for one week! Now we were told that Wyndham points would "probably" convert at one-to one, but no guarantee. I do not believe any of this will benefit members.

You can already use Vacasa with Wyndham Rewards.

Run the numbers. It won't pencil out any way you try to justify it. The tens of thousands of dollars required to attain Platinum etc will pay for a whole lot of Vacasa stays. The only benefit of any TS level is the 'free' housekeeping at Platinum; but you have to pay tens of thousands of extra dollars to get it so it's not too 'free'. The 'free' internet and 'free' RCI memberships all are paid for by your additional monthly TS dues; so again, not so 'free'. Go resale and pay $50/year for internet and pay the RCI or II membership yourself and save money over TS dues as well as the hefty buy in for TS. It's all smoke and mirrors to get you to transfer more of your money to their pocket.

But you can't use non TS points to convert to Wyndham Rewards points....

If you really want to stay at Wyndham properties you should buy a Wyndham resale contract with good MF to points ratio. Cheaper and you can book into Wyndham resorts months sooner than you can with WM travel share access. Save yourself $1,000s vs. buying direct.

But you can't use non TS points to convert to Wyndham Rewards points....
Wyndham Rewards? Isn't that the hotels? Why would you be tempted by that? Did they tell you that everything you put on that Wyndham Rewards CC will get you a huge # of points? That's not true at all. Have them show you that in writing. They cannot do it.

If you bought Trendwest developer years ago, you should have developer benefits. Don't let them talk you into buying more, when you cannot possibly save money enough in the long run to pay for it.
