Hi,
My family stayed at the Westin Mission Hills March 31-April 7 (spring break). We are not owners at WMH and it was our first time at that resort. We have visited the Palm Springs area for the past eight years and stayed with my in-laws at their Marriott Desert Springs Villas. We had a very nice time at WMH. My in-laws were impressed at how Westin compares to Marriott but that's a whole different discussion.
Last night I got an email request to fill out a survey about our recent stay at WMH. I filled it out this morning and wondered, "Does anyone really read these?" The only two negative comments I made were that there are no recycling bins and I was frustrated at the number of people who "reserve" chairs at the pool by placing their towels on them and not returning for many hours later. I know this because we were at the pool very early in the morning and witnessed people doing so.
Only a few hours later, I received a personal email from the General Manager of WMH regarding my comments! I felt like my comments weren't just going into some suggestion box, never to be read again. He mentioned that there are signs at the gate that the lounge chairs are first come, first served. He also mentioned that there are associates requesting that guests don't reserve chairs. He said that it's a real struggle to enforce with substantial success. He assured me that they will continue to work on this issue.
So, even though I am not an owner at WMH, I feel that the GM at that property is actively listening to guests comments! What a wonderful thing!
