That would be us each January at WKORV-N. But we used to be able to book the 1st week online, then call Owner Services the next morning and add all our subsequent weeks as well as be able to book the 1 br and Studio on one reservation, then drop the Studio without having to make a new reservation. No more. Each reservation needs to be made separately at the 365 day in advance point and we also must then go back in and book the studio separately from the 1 br so we don't lose the entire reservation (and excellent timestamp) if we end up not having friends join us. What used to be 1 online reservation and 1 phone call a day apart is now EIGHT online reservations over a 4 week period.
Do they try to keep you in the same unit? Everything is based on timestamp so I am curious what they do with multi week owners booking back to back.

They tell you in the reservation process that you will have back-to-back reservations but that you may have to switch rooms.

I was looking for personal experience, but it probably depends on time of year. Marriott seems much more willing to keep people in units but they don’t use timestamp at all of the properties.

We have been able to stay in the same villa for two consecutive weeks exactly two times (OV one year, and OFD this year). During our most recent stay in OFD at WKORV South, our second timestamp was better than our first, so we could have moved to a better location, but we didn't want to move and lose a day. I think if the first timestamp is good and the second one is not good, they may have you switch villas. But it is also easier for them to keep you in the same villa, so they probably try their best to keep owners in the same villa when possible.

I do not believe they use timestamp for room assignment priority at MVC properties, only at Vistana properties. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
Each MVC resort has its own room priority system...and Waiohai is the MVC property with which I am most familiar. I'm not 100% sure it still works this way (since I haven't talked with the room assignment folk for a while) but at least once upon a time...

Multiple week owners using their weeks consecutively or concurrently get highest priority. Then single week owners, then DP bookings, then cash stays, then II, then marketing stay redemptions.

Then come the tie breakers. Within each group reservations without a guest name attached have higher priority. Then MVC ownership tier (Chairman's Club, Presidential, etc.). Then (finally) villa request timestamp. Note that this is the *request* timestamp not the *booking* timestamp.

But I have read that some MVC locations do it very differently - in particular at least one of the Hilton Head MVCs 'alternate' good villas. So all those owners who return to HHI every summer get a good villa one year, a meh one the next, a good one the next, and so on.

I'm curious...how did this work exactly? I'm assuming that you told them of the second reservation when they sent out the requests email about the first. Did they send an email giving you a general idea that you could move into a better villa or actually offer you a specific villa for the second week?

I'm new to Vistana (and its villa request system), have two consecutive WSJ reservations, and am curious how this will play out.

I haven’t made a home resort stay lately but Westin historically did not send a request email like Marriott. Requests could be noted on the reservation at any time but really, timestamp ruled.

Interesting...but now I'm somewhat confused. How do/did you know that you could have moved to a better location?

You can get this info from the front desk at check-in. However, depending on how busy it is, they may not offer you any other options, besides the unit(s) you have already been assigned to.

For the last 6-7 years we have been able to stay in the same room, yes. We never expect that, but are pleasantly surprised when it happens.

When we checked in for the first week and the resort was not able to accommodate my villa requests, I was told that we could switch to a different villa location (that would match some of my requests) for the second week if we wanted to. But it is more important for us NOT to change villas (so much more relaxing), so I didn't opt to move
