Arriving in 3 weeks, got an email the other day asking me to confirm details/preferences and request additional info

The form it took me to among other things asked me to specifically select building 2,3,4 OR high/low floor as a preference.

That almost suggests another wrinkle in the unit type owned restriction and earliest reservation priority in allocating rooms

Or just another thing to be disappointed with or surprised/delighted...

Can't wait to see what basenent parking lot corner I'm going to get now

LOL-I get so upset when I see all the "stuff" piled up in the parking spaces in the garage. Why do they have to do that???

I had made my initial preferences known when I first made my reservation for Westin Desert Willow. I then received this type of email ahead of our arrival date asking for our "preferences." The choices didn't exactly match what I had asked for originally so I clicked on what I seemed was similar. When we arrived at check-in, they had us in a completely different area/building than what I had first asked for. I inquired about my initial requests that I had made 8 months earlier and they said that this latest email overrode whatever we had initially asked for. So be careful on how you respond to this particular email. Best to call front desk a couple of weeks ahead of arrival and confirm your preference/requests directly with a live person. Don't do it through this 'welcome' email. (The front desk person said this email is not sent by them, the front desk, but through a third-party.)

These emails are sent by one of the concierge staff, who are part of the sales organization. Their main goal is to get you to sign up for a sales presentation. It's never clear to me whether preferences expressed in response to these emails actually make a difference in your room assignment, but maybe they do.

I assume it's because they don't have any other place to put it, they use the back of the garage as a staging area. Around Thanksgiving they always have the Christmas decorations piled up back there, other times it's furniture or other items. I'm assuming they have off-site storage they use for things but they need a temporary staging area when stuff is brought from storage or during unit renovations, etc.

I don't like it either, but I don't know where else they could put stuff that wouldn't be an eyesore.
