We own at Westin Ka'anapaliOcean Resort and have always reserved during our home resort period so we have never questioned the type of villa. However, we are now using StarOptions and looking to reserve the Studio/Guest Villa and then the next week the 1 Bedroom Villa. We notice that one available villa shows "Deluxe" and the other shows "Standard". Is there a difference ibetween the floorplan or in location of the two types? Thanks for any help!

The "standard" 1BR villas are ocean view stand-alone 1BR villas in Buildings 2 and 3. They are not part of a 2BR lock-off villa. Does the "deluxe" 1BR state "island view" or "Ocean Front"? The deluxe island view villas are in the corners of Building 4 facing the parking lot and the mountains.

FWIW, I ended up once in a "deluxe studio" corner room in building 4 down towards the entrance to WKORV south. Although it contained the dreaded "parking lot" view, it also had a view of the entrance fountain and was a large, lovely stuandio and ended up loving it. It was quiet - no pool, restaurants or people nearby, no glaring western sun making the room too hot and bright all afternoon, and the underground parking was so easy. If I wanted to see the ocean I just walked outside.

And at the end of the day I was in Hawaii, at one of the nicest resorts in Hawaii, and all was there steps away right out my door.

Re-framing one's thinking can do a lot! 🌴
