Windjammer Landing - St. Lucia

We will be going there on Sept. 7th and have heard 99% great reviews. We will be flying into Hewanorra Airport. Is it cheaper to call the resort to have them send a shuttle or cab, or to just do it on our own at the airport when we arrive. Also, we are using RCI timeshare so will we be charged for daily cleaning? confused with some things I have read. Any other helpful info would be greatly appreciated. thanks Judy from CT

Private Taxi

I would highly recommend phv tours for your taxi ride from the airport to the Windjammer. Kimbert Duplesis is the owner/operator and he was a very nice young man eager to make a good impression on visitors to his island. We had also arranged an island tour with him and it was the highlight of our week in St. Lucia. We used several other taxis for short trips but Kimbert was our favourite. We just got back from Windjammer and had a great time.

We arranged a taxi through the resort and it worked great. We had our own cab and charged it to the room.

We packed some food to have breakfast and a few cheap meals in the room. We did some outings where we would eat out. We picked 3 days and did all inclusive so we could eat and drink whatever we wanted during that time.

We did an Interval getaway, and our room was great. It was an open to the elements, but I loved it. We packed a small soft cooler to take our own drinks to the beach.

As a timeshare guest, we do not get daily maid service, however they did a mid-week cleaning.

Make sure you bring crisp new U.S. dollars. Restaurants, taxis, stores, will not take bills that have tears, markings, big creases. Exact change is good to have our your change will be in E.C. dollars.

We enjoyed the jammers day sail.

St. Lucia is on a short list of Caribbean islands I would still like to go to. I have listed the Windjammer on prior II searches, but have always gotten hits on other resorts on other islands first. Is the Windjammer a difficult trade in II? I see that II now has three gold leaf resorts on St. Lucia. Perhaps a trade to there will be easier in the future.
