Williamsburg Marriott hotel leaving Marriott March 1

Thought Manor Club owners might find this information helpful.

Apparently, the owners of the FS Marriott in Williamsburg didn't want to upgrade to Marriott standards. They will be independent now and known as: Williamsburg Hotel and Convention Center. Aside from tube tv's, I liked the place. Stayed there several times on business.

This is NOT the Marriott Manor Club time share. This is a nearby Full Service Marriott Hotel.

I thought people may use the hotel from time to time extending stays or for other reasons.

Marriott Manor Club - 3 weeks platinum, 2 weeks at Marriott Beachplace Towers, and 1 week at Marriott Canyon Villas
It's quite a hike from Manor Club...almost at Busch Gardens. IMO it was a dump.

I stayed there on business several years ago and I thought it was a dump at that time. SOrely in need of a refurbishment and upgrades

Agree that it was/is a dump.

When I was living in Williamsburg year ago it was a Hilton. They wanted it to be a conference destination, but I don't understand how they could compete given location. Marriott didn't fare well either. It was great in that it was right next to Busch Gardens. It was horrible in that it had nothing else to offer. Honestly one of the lousy hotels in Williamsburg, but with a good reputation from the Marriott brand.
