If you will be awake at midnight, by MY Definition....you are YOUNG !!!

If you will be asleep.....sorry...you are OLD !!!

Taking a NAP, and then watching the Ball drop....sorry, that's 'cheating'......you would be voted OLD.

Given that this is being sent to TUGgers all over the world......it will have to be specific to YOUR time zone.
(almost all of my friends live Eastern US..... EST)

Since we just arrived at our winter apartment in Corozal Belize yesterday, which is in the Central Time Zone (& our bodies are still on the Eastern Time Zone), and we are old, we will likely be fast asleep. We had a couple of long travel days and then spent all day today getting our bins unpacked and finding some groceries to do us for a few days until we get our bicycles out of storage to go for a proper shop. When we are at home I love to watch the ball drop at Times Square. I may try to find a replay tomorrow as I read it was redone with more lights. We already had a video chat with family in England a while ago, at their midnight, and could hear their neighbourhood fireworks going off in the background.

Good morning you are not old. Sometimes when you reach a certain age, we just cannot sleep for eight consecutive hours. Watching a little television is our new friend.

Old……and have been for a LONG time.

Years ago I played in bands. NYE was the biggest payday of the year, so I always played. Nothing like watching people eat a big prime rib dinner, drinking champagne until they were silly drunk, then jumping up and down for an hour or two mixing it all together. You learn quickly after the evening is done to NOT use any bathroom close to the showroom. You also learn it’s best to wait a little while to allow the drunk drivers to clear the roads.

I haven’t spent a night up until midnight since I quit playing, and that’s been 30 years ago.

Thanks for thinking of me as young! We were at a party at a friends house near by, and came home shortly after we had finished our flutes of champagne. Stayed up to prep some things for today and chatted with our daughter. Went to bed about 2 am. No nap here—I worked some yesterday!

Old, asleep, slept through the fireworks going on in our neighborhood from 9:30 on. I was asleep a little after 11.
