I think that the lounge use issue may be unreasonable. As to the property comparison that is, of course, very personal. We bought HCNY some time ago. After using it for a while, we found it "just OK," especially the continually-slow elevators and poor lounge (which as since been improved). We sold it and bought W. 57th. Even after visiting the new HCNY/Residences lounge, we find W. 57th to be the considerably better product. But they are very different in terms of crowds and experience, and different folks like different things.
As a born-and-bred New York, the last thing I want is the crowds of the Hilton Midtown for my TS experience.
Cheers.
