Why Reservations are Limited at Legacy Affiliates

We just returned from a stay at Plantation Beach Club - Indian River Plantation.
While there I had an interesting conversation with the on-site HGVC sales-rep...

Amanda has been there 19 years and she's more a transfer + enrollment agent.
There's no active sales operation, but she'll mention "opportunities" if prompted.

She said that only 20% of the owners there are enrolled in HGVC.
It's only a 30-unit resort, so that averages 6 HGVC-participants at a time.
Of those, maybe half are used as home-weeks (automatically pre-reserved).
So IOW, at any one time maybe 3 units are available for club bookings.

BTW, all the units there are "ocean-view."

Thanks for the update. That was also my experience/understanding when we stayed there last year. We were able to pickup one of those weeks that some owner deposited into the club. I don't know if you attended the "resort update meeting", but that was also very interesting. For one thing, the resort is more of a family atmosphere where most everyone know each other because some people have been coming back to the same unit/week for over 20 years. I think that the Florida gulf properties are also similar.

Yep. We met one of those; also, a guy who owned five units for annual family reunions.
The weekly "owners update" was actually an update with info about renovations. Very friendly.
