Of all the HGVC resorts, the Las Vegas Strip is also a RCI points resort. Is this, or a portion of it, a new resort? Any idea why HGVC would have one of its resorts join points?
All exclusive HGVC locations are RCI points except the oldest (HGVC -flamingo) and the two new resorts in Hawaii. The affliated HGVC locations are not RCI points.
Does anything preclude a HGVC owner from depositing points with RCI and then staying at a HGVC resort? Instead of using 7000 points for a two bedroom platinum week you would only need 4800 points for a two bedroom red week.

Just like HGVC, Club Intrawest members will use alot more CI points to reserve a week at a CI location then making an exchange thru RCI. But there is a clause in their deal with RCI says that CI members may not use the CI points to make an exchange thru RCI for another CI location. HGVC members are lucky that HGVC deal with RCI doesn't also included a clause like the one with CI.

If you are HGVC owner, in theory you can trade through RCI. In reality, HGVC makes it very difficult (not impossible) to trade through RCI. That has been my experience over the last three years.
I have had very good results in trading my HGVC with RCI. I have had two exchanges into Mexico and 2 exchanges back into a HGVC resort. No hassles and very little waiting for RCI to find the units I was looking for.
