I keep getting calls (and I've heard that other owners are getting calls" from "PRA" -- "a group of attorneys") over and over supposedly about ownership at the Blue Whale in Oceanside.

I hang up on them so I have not gotten the pitch. Anyone know what it is? The Blue Whale owes the week owners millions of dollars?

Don't answer the phone. They can't scam you if you don't answer.

They are calling on my business line. And using a supposed local phone number. So they don't care if they are wasting people's time.

Perhaps hear out the pitch so you know why they are calling?

I had a legit timeshare company call me after I had made a reservation. I checked my reservation and it looked fine. The message left was to call back as it was urgent. I didn't. They called a few more times so I decided to see what was so urgent by calling them back. It was an idiot telling me the urgent info was he was my new account manager. I told him I didn't feel like this was urgent and to quit calling. They didn't so I blocked them.

With so many scammers it’s difficult to know when a call is real. Scammers are the plague of timeshare ownership.

If the caller is non-specific, caller ID says unknown, the caller has doesn’t speak good English, there is the click associated with a computer automatic dialer connecting me to an agent or if I can hear multiple people talking in the background, then I’m sure it’s a scammer in a boiler room call center and I hang up. That covers the majority of the calls I receive. A legitimate caller doesn’t have their ID blocked when calling.
