It will just be my husband and I traveling and I can't decide if I should go with the 2 bedroom at the Welk Resort Villas and risk getting an older unit or go with the 1 bedroom at the newer Mountain Villas. Does anyone know if the 1 bedroom is the lock off part or the master bedroom part? Thanks

Welk resort villas are only available as a full 2 bedroom unit. They have been refurbished but are not as fancy as the Mountain Villas or the Villas on the Green. At Mountain Villas and Villas on the Green all the units are lockoff and both sides are considered 1 bedroom. You may have to talk to interval to see if it is the larger or smaller side one bedroom for those units.

We love the older 2 bedroom Welk units. They are very, very spacious and peaceful and quiet. We didn't like the Villas on the Green, although we have not stayed there. We toured the new Mountain Villas and they are very nice and fancy. The smaller lock out is larger than the smaller side of Villas on the Green.

Does anyone have a site plan of LW Escondido that they could post or email me?

I will ditto this. We really enjoyed the spaciousness of the older Villas. I did not care for the Green. However, if you want to be close to Boulder Springs Pool with all of the kids stuff then the Green would be where you would want to book. Personally I don't mind walking or driving to these areas. The little bit of distance gives me a break from it when I want it. We stayed in Broadway Hill and were very happy.

We stayed in the Villas on the Green in June and loved them. After visiting all areas of the resort my second choice would be the older Resort Villas, and the Moutain Villas would be my last choice. They looked beautiful, and the pool is nice, but they're just so far from everything else. It's not walkable to the shops, other rec areas, lobby (for the free coffee), theater or restaurants. You have to drive to everything else. And the day that we spent up at the Mountain Villas pool there was a constant stream of people being brought in for tours. It just felt more busy and crowded. I liked the quiet and more spread out feel of the older Resort Villas better.
