Which Theme Park ls The Most Expensive in the World? Hint: It's NOT Disney

Busch Gardens in Tampa is #1, which is surprising because it's not busy at all. We just went last year on a package with free meals included, as much as we could eat. It was very inexpensive for Busch Gardens and SeaWorld combined. If you look for a deal, you will find it. They are out there.

Disney, we keep our AP's current and won't let them expire.

Busch Gardens in Tampa is #1
Except that it's not. Busch's advertised gate price (the highest price they charge and what you pay if you walk up to the window) is $135 including tax. Anyone buying online--even standing in the parking lot the day they are visiting--pays less.

That $109 Disney number is the lowest price Disney ever charges, it doesn't include tax, and it's only that low for Mondays through Thursdays in very late August and September.

How are the average family able to visit these themes Park?

Some of us are more average than others.
-- Paraphrasing George Orwell ("Animal Farm")

Even though it's not very popular, Busch Gardens in Tampa takes the top spot. Last year, we went on a trip where all of our meals were covered, and we ate as much as we wanted. For both Busch Gardens and SeaWorld, it was extremely low cost. You will discover a bargain if you seek for it. They exist, so beware.

Busch Gardens Tampa shows $90 on-line. 2 park ticket (with SeaWorld) is $125. Those are prices without even looking for other discounts.

The source for these 'rankings' is full of misleading statements and outright math errors. Using ride count as a value metric, really? So a kiddie flat ride is equivalent to a world-class coaster?
Rides also aren't the only 'attractions' in theme parks.

Seaworld San Diego shows poorly, because it has few rides, but the point of it really isn't the rides imo. The vast majority of the value for most guests is the animal exhibits/shows/experiences.

I find it shocking that in 2022 we are still keeping animals in captivity for our own entertainment. However much these places like to gloss themselves up as preserving species or having their welfare at heart it's just a smokescreen.

Yeah this article is very poorly done. I go to Cedar Point and Kings Island a lot. No one is paying $83 for a single day ticket. They both sell gold season passes that are good for the entire season for $99! and the online ticket price is typically in the $50-$60 range. This is like comparing the brochure price for cruises- no one is paying that amount. (Yet for Magic Kingdom they used the lowest possible price while they used the highest prices for the others.)

Articles of this nature often are. Some years ago a NYT reporter came to Austin and ate at Franklins BBQ and deemed it the absolute best in the world. Now they have long lines everyday and sell out in the afternoon. Everyone who comes to town, celebrities, famous people want Franklins. It’s been in movies and food shows.

If you live in Central Texas you know that Franklins is just okay, fine, but not stellar. There are a lot of truly excellent BBQ places in Central Texas (well all of Texas). The small BBQ joint in the parking lot of my grocery store is seriously good. But there you go.

I agree with that. I don't like circuses, zoos or aquariums AT ALL.

Secret: You an buy a Platinum Pass that will gain entraince for 12+ months for access to all Seaworlds, Bush Gardens, Aquatica, Seasame Place, etc.
Right now, the best option is to purchase thru SW San Antonio for $170. Yes, $170 and gets you to all parks for a year + other perks. Can't beat it.

One year I specifically time shared myself around this pass:
1 week in San Antonio, San Diego and Williamsburg
3 weeks in Florida

Personally, I don't do circuses - but I do enjoy zoos and aquariams. I try to balance it. I enjoy a SW sea lion show, but I also was facinated watching the SW rescue team come to the aid of a handful of them on shore in CA once.

That is a great deal. All you need to do is to visit Seaworld three (3) times and you have broke even with that Platinum Pass..

Would the pass need to be first used/ activated in San Antonio?

Shocking that Busch Gardens has the highest price. We did a Sea World/Busch Gardens trip a few years ago and got great deals - love their dining plan.
