We are going to be in Southern California during the July 4th celebration next year. We're planning on being in either Oceanside or San Diego. Which one would be better to catch these celebrations. I could be convinced to be somewhere else (like Anaheim) if the celebration is much better there. TIA

This year Oceanside had a fireworks display on July 3. Supposedly it was very good.

Down by Seaport Village (by the ocean and near the airport) they typically have good displays.

Consider googling it to get more info.

What they call the biggest fireworks show in CA is on San Diego Bay. If that is your consideration, I'd choose downtown vs. Oceanside. (One year a few years back there was a technical glitch and all the fire works launched almost simultaneously, lasting a few seconds! )

The Big Bay Boom in San Diego is the best. There are multiple barges in the bay shooting synchronized fireworks to music.

I agree. I’ve been there two of the last three years. I watched from Liberty Station in Point Loma.

Thanks that helps me clarify which resort to book when. Have only ever caught the fourth of July fireworks once in Great Falls Montana.
