HI-I am wanting a building that does not have the traffic noise at all and no loud elevators and noise-can you let me know which building to request? I am reading conflicting stories on tripadvisor.

thanks

Do a search here on TUG and you will find lots of information on this. I always look to tripadvisor for resort specific reviews. Tuggers give great advice but I think tripadvisor is a better source -- more open minded reviews.

With that said, just call the resort and explain what you are looking for. They will note your reservation accordingly.

I'll be there this weekend. We have 3 two bedrooms for Easter week and I cannot wait. My group of 17 people are really looking forward to this trip. Ohio has been so cold. I requested things like a remodeled room and to be close to the pools but I made it clear my #1 request was for the rooms to be together. I probably will not get a remodeled room or be close to the pools but as long as we are together, we will be good. You might want to tell the resort which of your multiple requests is most important so you avoid not getting anything you asked for.

Although I have never been there, I understand everything at this resort is close. I'm expecting this resort to be of similar size to the Hilton Head resorts. Having never been to a Marriott in Orlando, all the other resorts must be supersized in comparison to the Hilton Head resorts, but that is all I have to compare.

Hope you guys have lots of fun.

I'm debating if I should bring my bike or not. If anyone has some advise about that, please let me know.

I wish Marriott had property maps for all properties. Some are there but some are not. I do not see one for Harbour Lake but I have attached a pdf from Bing maps. I have never attached a file so I hope it works.

Edit: I would not bother with a bike. Orlando is on the opposite end of the spectrum on bike friendliness when compared to HHI.

Hope you have a good time and that my advice has been of use. With 17 people going you'll be taking over half the pool! We're off to Playa Andaluza on Friday for 10 days but the weather forecast isn't looking too great. It's a shame as this winter has dragged on far too long, it'll be warm but outbreaks of showers by the looks of things. Still, when you can get a decent bottle of wine for 4 euro's who cares!

Harbour Lake is comparable in size to all the other Marriott's I've been to, perhaps a bit smaller but not noticeably so.

I don't know about taking your bike. There didn't appear to be much of anything of interest in the local area that would benefit from a bike ride. It's certainly not as interesting as biking on HHI.

The Harbour Lake resort layout map is available on the MVCI website. You have to log-in to get to it.

We are in bldg 12 now with a great view of the lake and no noise at all from elevators or otherwise.

Resort is on the smaller size in my opinion compared to others I have been, but we haven't spent much time here since we have been at the parks despite the record low temps.

Staff is very friendly.

While there are 900 villas planned for Harbour Lake, only 312 have been built in 9 buildings. So it is still a fairly small resort. While there are technically 9 buildings. 8 are connected in pairs so there is really only 5 individual buildings. You probably can't go wrong with any of them.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who gave me trips about this vacation over the past few months, and this week. As always, the insider information is invaluable and just makes planning easier.

I'm not going to worry about gettin an updated room, just as long as we are all together. I know some parts of the resort have freeway noise but if I get one of those rooms I hope it won't bother us. We are not so much balcony people so I can't see how that will bother us.

I'm not going to bring my bike although I called the resort last night and got through to a guy in the activities department and he said biking is very doable around the resort. He said plenty of people bring their own bikes and use the sidewalks around the resort. I bike everyone from my home and the last thing I need is bike paths so I think I would be fine but it is a lot of work to bring bikes and I figure I can always rent a bike from across the street for a day or a few hours (not sure how Cypress rents bikes).

So far, I am very impressed with Harbor Lake. Apprently, they have our rooms assigned right next to each other. No pool view, but hopefully we are close enough to the pools.

Found out this resort does still offer the ice cream cup that is good all week but they only bring out ice cream once a day for about 45 minutes. Not sure if the all you can eat cup is such a good deal, now. Guess we will see. I'll definatley be buying the minature golf week long pass for everyone in the unit.

Also found out this resort provides the big beach/pool towels at the pool. So many other resorts now just give you one towel for each person in your unit and you are responsible for washing it all week. Not at Harbor Lake. This is a small thing but with 17 people, who wants to wash that many towels each night.

One other thing we learned is that this resort has oversized parking. Believe it or not, my step dad is brining his semi becuase he has a job down in Florida while we are on vacation. The resort said no problem with letting him park his rig on-site. I guess this is not an uncommon request and the resort has lots of undeveloped space and roads and that is where these oversized vehicles can park. Very cool.

If I remember, I will try to provide some kind of trip report.

If you want a free bike option I can drop off two plain single speed Dahon folding bikes that you can use for the week. I don't mind since I commute by there almost every day. PM me if you are interested.

This is such a nice offer. Thank you so much. I truly appreciate this but I will be okay without a bike. If I knew exactly what to expect around that area I would take you up on this offer but I won't know what all is around there until I check in. If I decide a bike would be nice, I will Definately pm you.

Again thanks and you are exactly why I love tug and tuggers so much. Happy Easter.
