I am starting my research for our late April trip to Branson. I am pretty sure we want to see SIX. (We love The Sing-Off.) Trying to get input on the Haygoods vs. The Duttons?
Any other strong recommendations?

Thanks! This is a first time to Branson.

You might like the Texas Tenors. They were on America's Got Talent last year. There are many tribute shows this year: John Denver, Neil Diamond, the Beatles, etc.

It really depends on what you are looking for. I've never seen the 2 you mentioned.

I'd like to see Joseph, based on the story of Joseph from the Bible. I have seen Kirby Van Burch (magic), Shanhai Acrobats, the Dixie Stampede, the Beatles tribute show (can't remember the title) and a couple of others. One thing I like about Branson entertainment is the diversity. It's not all country music, although that is certainly available.

We saw Six - loved them. They were probably our favorites. Also enjoyed the Haygoods and the Legend of Kung Fu.

Yakov's Dinner Adventure is one of the rare shows I ever recommend. Surprisingly good food and a very entertaining show.

We also enjoy the Hughes Bros. and The Bretts. I also really enjoy going to Silver Dollar City, there are many shows that are included with the admission and well worth the money even if you don't go on any rides. I think Silver Dollar City is still running a special where you get the second day free.

As you may know they just had a large storm go through Branson, so check their websites and/or call before booking to see what might still be under repair.

Since we will be there in April, not summer, I am planning to book after I get there and get discount coupons.

We definitely want to see SIX. I don't think we will go to tribute shows. The Haygoods sound good.

The Russian Comedy show sounded interesting. What did you like about it?
Has anyone seen the Haygoods and the Dutton Family to compare them?:ponder:

Check into Pierce Arrow, especially if you like the more modern country style.

We were there in October and bought all tickets after we arrived. For the most part, we had great seats. The only tickets I think I would have booked ahead was for SIX.

Where are you staying? We were at the Wyndham Meadows and they had a preview show which was terrific. We were able to by all of the shows we were interested in at discount prices from the resort or from coupons through the resort; even those shows who did not participate in the preview (about 16 of them).

If you're talking about Yakov's Dinner Adventure when refering to the Russian comedy, it's not really a comedy and, it's not Yakov Smirnoff. In short it's a story told thru and about the Russian circus. It has several great circus acts, a story line that keeps you involved and some audience participation. It's a very entertaining show with a good meal for what is normally the price of just seeing a show. Like any other show it's just good entertainment.

Just some additional info. You can purchase your tickets in advance or wait until you get there, it doesn't matter much unless you go at a really busy time. What you are really purchasing is a voucher that you must go to the box office and turn in for your seats. We have been travelling to Branson every year for the past several years and I usually advance purchase the shows that I really want and then fill in after arrival. I then take my vouchers the first morning there and go to the box offices and get the best seats in the house. We have had fantastic seats doing this. By the way, we prefer The Duttons over The Haygoods. If you need any additional info, just ask.

My teenaged daughter just got back from 4 days at Branson on a school trip. Her show choir opened for several acts and they got to see quite a few. Overall she doesn't like Branson anymore (she did when younger) and didn't think she would like any of the entertainment but she did say that the Haygoods were excellent. She said this on the basis of being a vocalist herself and she is quite picky. It probably didn't hurt that one of the boys in the group was cute. ;)

We haven't seen the Suttons so can't compare the two.
