Where to stay for an additional night in St Thomas

We have 12 nights booked at Frenchmans Cove starting Feb 4th, a Sunday. We are not a huge fan of red eye flights and that is all that is available from Denver except for Saturday's.....UA and AA both have 6 am flights. I looked at the Westin next door for an additional night on the 3rd and they are wanting $700+ for 1 night. Can anyone recommend a place for one night that is not too far from Frenchmans that does not break that bank?

Maybe a better option if to take a later flight on Saturday to Miami on American, stay at one of the many airport hotels (probably ~$250 or less) , and then fly on Sunday to STT?

The option for Saturday you were looking at is probably the one below?

So stopping in Miami is an extra $77 per person on the airfare. May be worth it, depending on how many people...

Yep, we were thinking about doing just that. There is a 4.30pm arriving at 9.50pm from Denver to Charlotte on Saturday and a 9 am from Charlotte to STT on Sunday morning the 4th. A Courtyard at the CLT airport for $150. Thanks!

In doing a brief scan of Kayak and Trip Advisor there are several hotels under $200. Two are close to the airport. I think one was formerly a Best Western. They are nowhere near the level of Frenchman’s Cove but if you only want a place to sleep they would fit the bill. That way you are on St Thomas and begin your vacation when you wake up. You could check in at Frenchman’s Cove in the morning and have them hold your suitcases. Then go get groceries or spend your day at the beach or pool.

When going to Waiohai on Kauai we do this every time. Sometimes we stay at the Sheraton in Poipu, sometimes we stay at a (relatively) inexpensive motel.

We are staying at the new Westin Frenchmens Reef for points. Excited to see the new places, after seeing their construction the last few years...
