Did it show up in "My Offers" section? I ask because I finally got signed up to RCI yesterday after much going-ons between resort closings inc and RCI about conflicting accounts. I'm so excited to start looking for sweet deals!

yes

Does it look like this screenshot? This is all I have from VV but this looks like it's for other resorts and still have pay to cash but not use points. Could you possibly send a screenshot of what the offer looks like?

Can I ask how long you waited for closing? I have been in the process of closing through Resort Closings for months now.

This is what the VV certificates look like in an RCI points account.

In our case - we won the Ebay auction on March 5, and we were emailed a screenshot dated May 12 from Grandview confirming the transfer completed on their end. Resort Closings was great to deal with. Our main issue was with RCI - they were mixing up conract numbers from previous owners and that caused a delay with our RCI account. All good now!

I also see this in my Gmail account - if this is the bonus week from VV, $420 Canadian doesn't really seem like a deal compared to what I can get anytime through the RCI site:

So when I click that link I'm taken to the RCI site search results with the filters seen in the below screenshot - the same place I end up if I click the link in the my offers screenshot from earlier - so I'm thinking this isn't the VV bonus week(s) where I would only be able to visit another VV resort for much cheaper. @AwayWeGo any thoughts on this one?

I am leaning toward the idea that timeshare bonus weeks are not all created equal.

A few times -- 2 or 3 -- we received bonus week offers via email from the Vacation Village chain, essentially offering us a 1-week reservation at a selection of resorts, mainly if not exclusively other links in the Vacation Village chain, for the cost of an RCI exchange fee only, no points & no TPUs.

Those offers did not show up when we logged into the RCI website. Nor were we able to follow up online to make reservations using those offers -- we had to call RCI.

We thought those particular bonus weeks were a good deal & we jumped right on them when they showed up in email. No more have shown up since, however, leading us to suspect that those bonus weeks had do with the economic slump or possibly the covid pandemic shutdown, meaning we don't expect to see more of them any time soon.

These certificates (ones that show up in RCI accounts) are basically for getting an "RCI Last Call" for an exchange fee. While you get them from a VV account, they are not specifically/exclusively to be used at VV resorts.

There are discounted RCI exchange fees when trading into VV using an RCI Weeks account, but not for an RCI Points account.

Here is the official explanation of the VV bonus weeks. You have to log in, but it comes up for me. They have the old exchange fee. It has increased since then.

We used to get a flyer but you can call RCI And they will help you and they also know about locations and availability. We’ve done several times, you just need to be flexible. Good luck.
