Seems like a silly question?

In 2020 it's on a Saturday and the observed Independence Day holiday is on Friday the 3rd. So in timeshare world do people consider Sat 6/27 to Sat 7/4, Sun 6/28 to Sun 7/5 or Sat 7/4 to Sat 7/11 the best reservation to have with a view to rental?

I don't think the 4th of July will be an ideal rental date this year, because the 4th falls on a Saturday. Traditionally, Saturday is the most popular check-in date, but people don't want to travel on the 4th - they want to be at their destination on the 4th to enjoy the holiday. However, if they travel/check-in on Friday instead, they will probably have to take an extra day off from work, which many people can't do, or don't want to do. I would choose a different Saturday in July.

I would say Sun 6/28 to Sun 7/5 would be a higher demand week for July 4, 2020. Kids are out of school. Also, we have July 1 here in Canada, and this week includes that as well.

Welk Branson has no availability left for Sun June 28- Sun July 5th..... And we're barely inside the 15 month window to book that. So Echino is right for most resorts I would think.

I agree especially with drive to locations. I think people will be willing to adjust from driving in for their vacation from Saturday to Sunday. For locations that are predominately fly to I think there will be overall a slight reduction in demand.

How about Fri. 7/3 check-in?

There's 50 Branson units available at all the resorts for 7/3-7/5 checkins.

& 8 for 6/28 checkin.

Nothing for owners left on the dates I posted.

I'm an idiot. It's been a long day. Oldguy I'd saying 50 left in all of Branson on RCI. Right?

I changed it to what I said.

Aside from booking timeshare weeks . . . Saturday is a great day for the 4th of July. Fireworks and Patriotic celebrations can be either Friday or Saturday nights, which are both good. People can take Friday and Monday off, and have a nice trip to the lake.

Which I'm sure is why next year Welk is sold out and two years ago when I rented a week, only 3/4 of the nights were taken....

As the OP states, the observed holiday 2020 is on the Friday, so, no, they wouldn't have to take a day off work as the Friday is a Federal Holiday. At many, many US resorts, the 4th of July week is the most popular week of the year. Which gives a better chance of getting a pre-booked week rented. So the Friday or Sunday check-ins that 'cover' the 4th on the Saturday should be better than the Saturday check-in or out.

In my neck o' the woods & swamp, the 4th of July is on the 4th of July. Other than Schools, Libraries, Federal offices, and postal employees being off on Friday the 3rd, things will be the same as normal where we're at, and plenty of folks will be scheduled to work, and will have to take it off if they want it off. Guess we'll have to wait to see who does and doesn't get Friday off.

Most BBQs and family outings will be on Saturday, the 4th of July.

In those areas that have multiple celebrations, like Branson for instance, having two consecutive holiday days will make more sense in spreading out the celebrations, which is done every year any way. One of the main fireworks displays for 2019 is on Wednesday, July 3.

But, any way, yes, Sun to Sun would be best in 2020, regardless. You would be at your resort for both Independence Day and Independence Day Holiday (as it is called).

Of course, the most common check-in day is still Saturday, so there won't be a choice at a lot (maybe most) resorts, something we just looked at this past week. Even in Orlando, with as many TSs as there are there, only 28 units are available through RCI for Sunday, June 28, 2020.

Week 27 I used to own a timeshare in Vermont. 4th of July usually falls during this week.
Big fireworks celebration and Parade, good times when the kids were small.

Actually, it's pretty much 50/50 between weeks 26 and 27, so usually might be the wrong modifier.

Chuckling to myself, I googled what would happen if Christmas fell on Saturday . . . would we celebrate it on December 24th?

I would agree with this. Usually when a holiday falls on a Saturday, my employer give us a floating holiday to take any time in the year. I hope it is the same with July 4th 2020, when not on the actual holiday I much prefer to take the day when I want vs when the holiday calendar tells me to.

I had a vacation rental in Delaware. The only time I couldn’t get it rented was when July 4 was on Saturday. I lost both weeks. No one wanted to check in or out on Saturday July 4.
