When do I receive Guest Certificate?

We are renting out our Home Week reservation to some friends. I bought the $49 Guest Certificate and only received confirmation of the purchase. This was several days ago. How long does it take for HGVC to send me the official Guest Certificate? Thanks.

Carolyn, I've never received anything when buying a Guest Certificate. I think more than once I was told that I'd get an email confirming it, but that never happened,

As far as I know, they do nothing more than add the guest's name to the reservation. You can call the front desk at the resort it's for and confirm that the name is on the reservation..

Guest Certificates are free for Home Week reservations. If you had to pay the $49 fee, it's a Club Reservation.

You can call Member Services and request they email you the confirmation with your friends' names. Otherwise, you can print the screen with the reservation in your friends' names from your HGVC account.

I just paid $49 for my Home Resort confirmation change. Do you think they will refund my money?? HGVC is sooo confusing!! I clicked on my Home Reservation online and it said "Add a Guest Certificate" and automatically took me to the credit card page. Now this is at The Charter Club at Marco but was the week I was assigned for 2017 (Gold Flex week). Thoughts?? Thanks everyone.

Don't quote me on this, but since Charter Club is an affiliate, if may be that, any booking you make thru HGVC (rather than directly thru Charter Club), their 'puters think is a "club" booking. IOW, from "outside."

Or maybe you used some points other than your annual allotment, or maybe you didn't use the resort's standard check-in date? Either of those will kill your home-week status.

I'd call to discuss this with them. If they say it's a club-booking, do not tell them that you rented it (that'd be against the rules) -- only home-weeks are rentable. Just say that your "friends" will be using it.

... which reminds me... I need to cancel my week at PBC-Indian River (another affiliate), which the system automatically pre-books for me every year. That way, I can recover the points to use elsewhere.

I can't speak to an affiliate, but the *only* time I've managed to get the system to send me the "guest" certificate is if I've done it while booking. If i add it on later, it's never sent me the confirmation again. You can or should be able to download the updated confirmation yourself as a .PDF file. However I don't think it'll list quite the same information as the original confirmation (I keep thinking like # of points or something isn't on it). But it'll have the guest name on it.

Click View Reservation Details. Then the "print" icon to the right of the really big letters stating: THANK YOU FOR YOUR RESERVATION
