Hi Tuggers!

I recently had a stay where I converted some of my 2024 expiring points into resort credits. It was done at the concierge desk of the resort. I already expensed the credits at the resort. It is 2 days after the stay but the points still show up in my MVC account. It's OK for me to do some mental math, for a short while, and know exactly how many I supposedly have used, but I wish it's clean on the account.

From your past experience, when are points for Resort Credit deducted from your account?

Thank you and Happy Thanksgiving!

For resort credit, you must contact customer service prior to the stay. You cannot request that the resort itself issue the credit. When you speak with the CSR you identify which points you want used for the credit. Then upon arrival, you activate the credit with the concierge.

We had points deducted when we ordered the credit through customer service. It was then activated by concierge. Are you sure they weren't deducted prior to your arrival? You are supposed to order it at least 48 hours prior to arrival. https://owners.marriottvacationclub.com/timeshare/mvco/resortcredit (Login required)

Agree with others. Always immediately deducted after initial call with MVC. They are long gone before you get to the resort.

Look at your point usage history online to see if they were previously deducted.

Leslie, I always thought one had to call CSR to have the resort credit processed in advance of a stay, but we were able to have the concierge at Grande Ocean process the credit earlier this month. The points were deducted from our account within a few days. Perhaps this is a new policy?

I’ve not heard any reports about a change in the process. Perhaps? I simply do not know.

I just purchased a resort credit yesterday..325 holding points that were expiring for a $110 resort credit..points were taken from my account immediately and resort credit was in in my account minutes later…concierge will activate the credit upon arrival.

Thank you and others for sharing the experiences. Mine was similar to Zagrid094 - handled completely by Concierge Desk and voucher issued there, but points still not yet taken away from my account.

My points for resort credits are now deducted, 5 days after the stay.

I had done it both ways, gotten the resort credits and later activated at the concierge desk, and also requested for more resort credits while at the concierge desk and it was done while I was there. I don't remember for the latter when the points were taken out of the account.
