I thought I had seen a post saying just after midnight following the last day of the month. I noticed booking eligibility for some resorts starts on the second of the month. Is the strategy to just find out for your resort and then be ready at midnight Eastern US Time to book on that day?

For most resorts, it is 276 days from the checkout date, midnight EST.

ah, so there really is no concept of 'hit at right at the start of the month', it really depends on your checkout date? thanks!

Yup. They don’t dump weeks into the system. What’s in the system is in there at 9 months. You can find some availability if a person has a reservation at a hard to book resort and cancels it, but that’s just luck.

Each resort has a view booking eligibility option. When your selected dates are outside of the booking window and you select this option, you will get the following:

Here you can get an email notification when you will be eligible to book. The email will be sent at midnight EST on the eligible date.

I did not know about this. Thanks. I check the date with Excel and then just set a calendar reminder, but this is a simpler approach.

Cheers.

Honestly, neither did I until a few days ago. I had never before clicked "View Booking Eligibility" when outside of the club season. It will only show up then. I will still use the calendar approach because most likely I will need to stay up until midnight.

Only 9PM on the West Coast :)

Although we've been in New Orleans for the past week and a half and it's 11PM to walk a reservation, so I've just been doing it in the morning.

Cheers.

And remember, you can "walk it thru" by booking the first three days.....

if you walk it through can you keep doing it and move original entry date ie start book 1 week earlier than your intended date ?

I didn't know about this, either! And I just used it to notify me when it's time to book the elusive Lagoon Tower 3PL for my trip next May. Thank you!

The problem is crossing Saturday stays as the website doesn't show you how many rooms are still available and how many are taken by Home Week reservations. It could be no problem or there could be 50 people walking into a high demand week with one room of that type available.

Thanks for your response

Thank you. I was not aware of the view booking eligibility window and set reminder option either and I log in all the time. I have used the calendar approach and it has worked for me. Thanks for this info.

is there a post, or thread, here somewhere that explains the walking approach?

In the rci system that feature is available.
